The Band

Trees Don't Move is an alt-rock band from the heart of the Colorado Rockies. Together since 2019, the band consists of Ben Suttor on lead vocals, Christian Dent on lead guitar, Cooper Filmore on rhythm guitar, Jax Leija on drums, and Micah Robinson on bass. The band takes influence from early 2000's punk but also draw on other genres to form their sound, such as ska, midwest emo, and grunge. Following the release of their self-debut in June of 2022, the band quickly began picking up steam in their local scene, playing the Eagle Block Party alongside acts like Thievery Corporation and Ripe. After a consistent gigging schedule throughout the summer of 2022, the band was quickly named best band in the Vail Valley according to a readers’ poll performed by the Vail Daily. As of recent, the Trees have begun making their mark outside their local scene, becoming front range regulars, as well as getting ready to tour out-of-state in the summer of 2024.

Their latest single, “Stand-In”, showcases some of the Trees’ best writing to date. The lyrical content tackles feelings of losing touch with those close to you as paths diverge in life. The instrumental arrangement of the song feels very reminiscent of classic midwest emo acts, namely Free Throw and Modern Baseball. The track, like their prior release “Better Days”, was brought to life through the engineering genius of Billy Mannino, known for his work with Oso Oso, All Get Out, and Savings. Trees Don't Move are working relentlessly to promote their new single in as many ways as possible, evident through their rapidly growing presence on TikTok and Instagram. Trees are rocking ready to go national and spread their music into the ever-growing alt scene, constantly stirring the pot with new music and shows. It seems there's nothing they can't do, except move.
