Music

Trees Don't Move's entire catalog of music, all in one place.

Stand-In

“Stand-In”, the last release before the band went off to college, showcases some of the Trees’ best writing to date. The lyrical content tackles feelings of losing touch with those close to you as paths diverge in life, a feeling very much shared among those whose friends are leaving this year for school. The instrumental arrangement of the song feels very reminiscent of Fourth Wave emo acts, namely Free Throw and Modern Baseball. Same as their prior release “Better Days”, the single was brought to life through the engineering genius of Billy Mannino, known for his work with Oso Oso, All Get Out, and Savings. The track is now available on all platforms for streaming.

Better Days

"Better Days" is an exploration into unfamiliar musical territory that Trees Don't Move has yet to touch on in any of their prior releases. Praised by Sam Wilmot of Savings for its seamless genre fluidity, the EP takes inspiration from emo, ska, and grunge, among others present throughout the tracklist. Engineered by Billy Mannino, whose resumé includes oso oso and All Get Out, the EP takes on a new sonic character that houses a constant barrage of unforgiving emotional rawness. The band cites Microwave, Sublime, Free Throw, and Origami Angel as artists whose tracks shaped the soundscape of the release. "Better Days" is now available on all platforms. Cold + Tired

Released as a double-sided single on December 23rd, 2022, “Cold + Tired” marked TDM’s first release since their debut album. The single explored creative areas previously untouched by the band in their prior work, blending elements of midwest emo and acoustic stylings into their characteristically pop-punk sound. Trees Don’t Move S/T

Trees Don't Move's debut record was recorded over the course of roughly 10 months, beginning in the summer of 2021 and wrapping up in spring 2022. The songs were written over the course of several years, but as the pandemic picked up, and Trees were no longer able to play live, they took to writing a collection of songs that would later make it to the album. After almost a year of studio work, the album would be released independently on June 1st, 2022. The album fuses elements of punk, grunge, ska, classic rock, and more during its 10-track duration. Felony

As Trees Don’t Move’s debut release as well as the lead single off their self-titled album, Felony garnered instant attention from old and new fans alike. Felony was released on May 6th, 2022, just under a month before the full-length album would be released. Felony has a ska feel, similar to the styles of bands like Sublime and Pepper. Felony remains Trees Don't Move's most streamed song to date, and it has even been featured on a playlist curated by Coca-Cola. Click below to listen to the single.
